Fee:  35 minutes  - $50

  1. Many uses of scales, arpeggios, approach techniques, target notes and guide tone lines.

  2. Triadic Improvisation through standard chord progressions, then with less common progressions and finally adding approaches to the triads.

  3. Rhythm

  4. Modal harmony and ways to improvise in modal situations.

  5. Chord substitutions.

  6. LEARNING STANDARDS

  7. Expansions on lines you know

  8. Ear Training

  9. Uses of diminished scales and their relationship to dominant chords.

  10. Intervalic approach to improv.

  11. Pentatonics, and melodic minor modes. ..... Special attention to time and tempo.
     

Learn to retain tempo the same way you retain pitch. It's all vibrations. When you're not playing, keep singing toyourself and imagining the playing of what you sing. See how long you can go away from your instrument and come back to the same pitch and pulse. Try it- it works- that alone thought wise is a lesson in itself.
